travel japan tokyo fugi television headquarters
ARCHITECT: KENZO TANGE (1997)
Fugi Television commissioned Kenzo Tange for their new headquarters built in Ariake, a new commercial district on man-created land in Tokyo Bay.
My son and I visited this building as part of an architectural tour of Japan in 1998.
The "tinker toy" envelope is a real eye catcher.
The building is still surrounded by undeveloped land, but is still a real tourist stop complete with a replica of the Statue of Liberty.
